  • Condition: I am 60-years old and it has been in my home longer than I have. It may be a proper antique but I have no way of knowing. I know that it was hand-made, and that the work was tedious. The size is approximately 72" x 55" and it fits a single bed with plenty of overhang.

    Description

    I don't know if "window pane" is the correct term for this technique.  It is essentially round patches of fabric whose edges are drawn into a bundle and sewn together, not unlike one of those yummy Chinese dumplings that sit on your plate like a plump baby.  Said bundle is then 'flattened' and attached to its mates.
    See in photos where I slipped different colors of paper underneath so that you can see through the holes.  I've seen this one used in a similar manner, where it is laid atop a blanket of a solid color and shows through the holes of the quilt you're considering buying as we speak.
    The primary color is a pale, 'antiqued' yellow.
