    Description

    You are looking at a Beautiful Rag Quilt. These quilts look pretty draped on the bed or sofa or a chair. The uses are many. This is a Rag Quilt. Rag quilts are very time consuming, about 25 hours, first you cut out the pieces and the batting. Then you sew every square with a x. That is for the quilting process..3 Layers 2 flannel and 1 batting. Then the rows are assembled and the rows are laid out so you have a vertical pattern. Then you put it all together to create the Great Look. On a rag quilt one side of the quilt is all of the seams ragged and the other side looks like a finished quilt with ragging only on the outside border, but we did ours a little different and added a border all around so the one side is completely finished. I love the look this way.. I use the ragged side for the front but you could use either side. The front and backs of our rag quilts do match. This quilt is like a puzzle to put together. Many flips, cuts and pieces, put together to make a Snowman. The Hat  and border are Cute Elves Pattern ,the vest is a nice poinsetta print Then the Snowman is white with back hat  and a blue   for the background color. The eyes are 2 large buttons hand sewn and a button mouth as well as berries on hat are all hand sewn . The buttons are only on the front for your comfort and the arms and carrot nose and arms are appliqued on and the arms are on the backside also.

    Great throw for those chilly evenings . I have started the ragging process with the first rinse. The first time or 2 that you wash will rag a little, gives it the ragged look. The quilt is machine wash (in cold water) and dry on gentle cycle. As you probably know rag quilts are extremely warm. The quilt measures 4 1/2 wide by 5 1/2 feet long. This is a cute quilt, The quilt has been made in a smoke free home. Thanks for looking.
