Snowman Rag Quilt.., Very Cute and Festive. All Cotton.. Large and Warm

You are looking at a Beautiful Rag Quilt. These quilts look pretty draped on the bed or sofa or a chair. The uses are many. This is a Rag Quilt. Rag quilts are very time consuming, first you cut out the pieces and the batting. Then you sew every square with a x. That is for the quilting process..3 Layers 2 cotton fabric and 1 batting. Then the rows are assembled and the rows are laid out so you have a vertical pattern. Then you put it all together to create the Great Look. On a rag quilt one side of the quilt is all of the seams ragged and the other side looks like a finished quilt with ragging only on the outside border, but we did ours a little different and added a border all around so the one side is completely finished. I love the look this way.. I use the ragged side for the front but you could use either side. The front and backs of our rag quilts do match. This quilt is like a puzzle to put together. Many flips, cuts and pieces, put together to make a Snowman. The Vest is a checkered fabric  and border are in a cute Mitten  pattern ,  Then the Snowman is white with back hat  and a blue   for the background color. The eyes are 2 large buttons hand sewn and a button mouth as well as berries on hat are all hand sewn . The buttons are only on the front for your comfort and the arms and carrot nose are appliqued on also.
Great throw for those chilly evenings . I have started the ragging process with the first rinse. The first time or 2 that you wash will rag a little, gives it the ragged look. The quilt is machine wash (in cold water) and dry on gentle cycle. As you probably know rag quilts are extremely warm. The quilt measures 4 1/2 wide by 5 1/2 feet long. This is a cute quilt, The quilt has been made in a smoke free home. Thanks for looking.
