    Description

    This quilted wall hanging measures 37 x 42 inches. It was made by Jane Herlihy in 2010, and titled "Great Expectations."  I purchased it in 2014 at an East Bay Heritage Quilters quilt show (San Francisco Bay Area), which was a fundraiser. It has a hanging sleeve, and was machine quilted with metallic thread (note use of sun shapes in thread).  Jane embellished it with beads (some glass), plus real turquoise beads, some wood beads, various threads, sequins, and buttons.  The sharp points you see were more than likely foundation pieced. This item is very nicely detailed, and a lovely, creative piece.
