    Description

    You are looking at a Great  Rag Quilt.These quilts look pretty draped on the bed or sofa or a chair. The uses are many. This is a Rag Quilt. Rag quilts are very time consuming, first you cut out the pieces and the batting. Then you sew every square or body shape with a x. That is for the quilting process..3 Layers 2 flannel print and 1 batting. Then the rows are assembled and the rows are laid out so you have a vertical pattern. Then you put it all together to create the Monkey. On a rag quilt one side of the quilt is all of the seams ragged and the other side looks like a finished quilt with ragging only on the outside border, The front is the ragged side. The eyes, nose and mouth have all been appliqued on in a cotton fabric, and I gave him an appliqued heart to match. The Monkey is in a orange tie dye and have used a beige flannel for face. paws and tummy. So cute you could also lay on floor for a Baby's Play Mat..The front and backs of our rag quilts do match. We don't use a solid color on the back of the rag quilts. The last photo shows the back.The quilt measures 4 feet long  x 3  feet long.  Very nice look.I have started the ragging process with the first rinse. The first time or 2 that you wash will rag a little, gives it the ragged look. The quilt is machine wash and dry on gentle cycle. As you probably know rag quilts are warm. Has been made in a smoke free home.
